A pop-up says I have a virus and gives a number to call. Is it real?
No. Real security software never asks you to phone a number. Close the browser, do not call, and do not pay anyone. If you already gave someone access or card details, call your bank straight away and then contact us.
Will you delete my files?
No. Clean-ups are done to keep your files and settings. If we think a full Windows reinstall is the only sensible route, we explain why and agree it with you first.
Why is my computer slow when it is not infected?
The usual culprits are an old mechanical hard drive, not enough memory, a crowded start-up list or heat. A fresh start-up setup and an SSD fix most of them.
Can you stop it happening again?
We cannot promise that, but we can set the machine up sensibly and show you what to watch out for, which is where most infections come from.
